Activity Forums Adobe After Effects Expressions Simple Count Up

    Hi All,
I am practically a newbie to After Effects in general, this being the first time I have used it and I am building an animation project for a client. Mostly it is text, some stuff I have animated myself. I need to put in a number and have it count directly from 1 to 876 over about 2.5 secs. It needs to do this very quickly obviously, but I don’t know where to start. Perhaps expressions is the way to go? Could someone explain to me in simple terms how I can do this. I don’t understand Javascript either, I am mostly a designer and editor using Final Cut.

You can do this with the Numbers effect, or you can do it with expressions. This page gives both.

BTW, I recommend that all people new to After Effects start here.
