I exported a my 2-hour clip from FCP6 into Compressor. I used the “DVD 120 Minutes Fastest Encode” preset. This will give me an audio and Mpeg-2 video file, which I will then import into DVD Studio Pro to burn.
Do I have to sync them up in Studio Pros timeline or when I import the asset, will it grab both? Is this all correct?

My apologies if this is dumb question.

    Thanks

Ok check that. I got some Cow advice. I exported a QT reference file to my Desktop. Put it into Compressor, and now I’m encoding with DVD Best Quality 120 Minutes. I assume I simply import my asset (both audio and video files) into Studio Pro and burn.

The length is 1 second under 2 hours. The QT Ref is 1.6 GB. (No menu in Studio Pro)

    Should I be good here?

You workflow is fine. It’s best to use an ac3 (Dolby) audio file instead of an aiff as it’s 1mbps less overhead (and a smaller file) for the DVD player. But, don’t use the ac3 preset without changing two parameters in the Inspector > Encoder > Audio tab: dialog normalization from -27 to -31 and data rate to 192 (it may already be 192, but check); and in the Preprocessing tab make sure Compression Preset is set to None. I’m pretty sure there’s a good tutorial about this on Ken Stone’s site. It’s also covered in Compressor’s user manual.
