  Simple broadcast safe question

  Can anyone point me to a good in depth explanation or article about broadcast safe levels. I just color all of my own stuff to under 100 IRE on my scopes and slap on a broadcast safe at the end… but I’m having to review my current employers backlog of archive programs, most of which is all over the place and seemingly not broadcast safe… so before I go in and do anything to it, I want to get a better understanding of what broadcast safe levels so I don’t end up doing unnecessary work.
