In this intro, at about 2:05… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_N8D_nJlp4

Where the “created by” text flashes in. I’m sure there’s a simple after effects effect that will replicate that, I’m just not AE savvy enough for it to not take me several hours to figure out. Any ideas?

Look for CC ScaleWipe. The compression artefacts are quite bad so I can’t really tell if Trapcode’s Shine was used. But CC Scale Wipe should be fine.

Thanks. I’ve gotten the plugin, but I’m not entirely sure how to make it look like that. Do I need a range selector or something to make it effect each letter individually?

I’m really bad at After Effects :\

Possibly. If you want to do so. Create a Text Animator for OPacity and perhaps add Scale. CHange their values to 0. Move the timeline indicator to where you want the first character to appear. Then for the Range Selector set Start 100% and create a keyframe for End with a value of 0. Move ahead in time to when you want the last character to appear and set the value for End to 100%.

Thanks for the help. As it turns out, the CC Light Wipe was exactly what I was looking for, but I wouldn’t have looked for it had you not mentioned the other effect!
