    Hi gents,

One of our G5 Quads recently did a gig where we brought in a contract artist. He added his license of Shake and FCP to the machine (it had primarily been doing compositing duty, and had After Effects installed). When our contract guy left, we threw his apps and stuff away, being on the up and up…

So NOW we want to install one of our FCP licenses on the machine. We have a multitude of them (some of them being license/and upgrade, which might bear on this). When we attempt to install the 5.0 version of ‘The Suite’ the install dialogue box comes up with FCP 5, Compressor, and DVD Studio grayed out with ‘skip’ next to them on the list. The only app that seems willing to install is Soundtrack.

When we install THAT app it delivers a message on first attempted startup about “insufficient hardware, single or dual processor G4 or better required”…. Um, it’s a G5 Quad with 8 gigs of memory, an internal terabyte, and smoking everything else.

I also tried installing an older (FCP HD 4.5) license that we have, and it delivers the same result.

We have audited our other machines, and can forthrightly say that it isn’t a license conflict. These licenses should be available…

    Any thoughts ? Advice appreciated….
