  • Silly question about pasting path info

Posted by Craig Wall on July 13, 2007 at 12:59 am

I have been doing this forever–and now I can’t work my way out of a paper bag.

When I try to paste path information into the write-on position property–it doesn’t paste the info–instead it just creates another mask.

I think I am following all the basic rules
-Get a valid path into the clipboard
    -Select the Write-on “Brush Position”
    -Paste

Can anyone help with my brain freeze?

Try making one keyframe for the Brush Position before pasting. It doesn’t matter what.

I knew that trick–and tried it already.

    It’s flat out goofy.

    Weird.

If I ’roundtrip the path into Illustrator and back–then it works fine. It’s a clipboard issue of some kind.

I may not have followed this thread correctly, but you need to create a keyframe in the ‘Mask Shape’ property of the mask, select that keyframe, copy it and paste that into the brush position of Write-On… or use Stroke =)
