Is there any way to side chain insert effects in Premiere between various tracks? So like, you could use a dynamics/compressor insert to anylize a voice track, and use that as an auto-gain for an audio bed?

I’ve seen some people send their voice & music tracks to a submix and then compress that, but all that accomplishes is a combined compression on all tracks.

If Premiere doesn’t allow for side-chaining, it’s a badly needed feature that would save a lot of people a lot of time.

I hear ya, but even Audition doesn’t have that capability, so I wouldn’t count on one for Premiere anytime soon. There are some VSTs outthere, the one I use is from Waves, but I don’t know if it will work with Premiere as all side chains requires bus routing between tracks.

I wlll try to install it on a Premiere machine and will let you know if it works.

    Funny… I’m trying to do this now with CS5 😉 Guess I need a beefier audio program…
