Shuffle play on a DVD
Posted by Martial Bachoffner on November 18, 2006 at 5:57 amHello,
My customer asked me if we can create a DVD with DVDSP with an option for a shuffle play.
Like a randomize of the chapter.Regards,

November 18, 2006 at 6:08 am“Shuffle Track Play” is not usually a VIDEO function.
Any DVD player that has that feature is likely to only enable its operation if an AUDIO CD is being played in the tray.
I don’t know how one would create a DVD disc with a “Random play” built-in command.
At the end of a track, there is usually placed a command that tells the player to either “go to X” or “hold.”
I don’t think there is a common “go to ‘random’ track” command.
If anyone else has seen this, please post.

November 18, 2006 at 9:18 pmApologies for seeming flip – but have you tried posting this on the DVDSP forum? You are asking about an advanced feature in DVD creation – and I have seen similar questions asked there.
Based on some knowledge of quiz DVDs, a lot can be achieved with scripting in DVD construction, so ask the experts on the other forum, or get yourself a good book!
Hope that helps.
