Showreels
Hello, i work for a video/multimedia company, and i have been asked to create a showreel from various past projects of theirs. i think that it would fine to use any music piece of music (commerial, ie a song by prodigy) with no copyright does anybody know if this is the case.
the reel will be handed out on DVD to potiential clients and also appear on our website. it will not be shown publically. (unless someone goes on our site).
anybody know if there are any copyright implications

If the song is copyrighted, you can NOT use it for ANY kind of edit without expressed, written permission (usually with a fee involved).
No matter if you make money with it, no matter if its “only on the web” (where every human on the face of the earth with a web connection can access it… I’d call that “public”), no matter if you just “give the DVD away” to clients, no matter if “the guys next door” do it…
It is not legal to edit (“sync”) copyrighted music to any video or film without permission.
