A client would like to collaborate on an HD fine cut remotely. Do you have any recommendations as to how to achieve this?
Is this the basic problem: How to output the Program Viewer window to the client with as much clarity and clean motion as possible? In essence, send the FullScreen Viewer over the internet.
(I’d prefer to do this with the equipment already available to me: daVinci 17 Studio, MacBook Pro mid-2014 with Lightning, USB & HDMI ports. Also, an older MacBook Pro with Firewire, Lightning, and USB ports. Also: UltraStudio MiniMonitor with Lightning in, SDI/HDMI out. Also, Lightning to DVI-D/VGA convertors.)
We do something similar but of course, the “as much clarity and clean motion as possible” will depend on the internet connection for both parties. You could use OBS Ninja to screen share peer to peer (obs.ninja) or Teamviewer or my favourite RealVNC (put the VNC server on your machine and the VNC viewer on your client’s computer). To get good audio I use Sonobus, it is awesome, both parties install the software and join the same room. Or, if you know how to live stream, you could live stream a window on your machine via OBS to Twitch/Youtube/Facebook or AWS IVS for really low latency (AWS option does cost a little bit but it is really good).
