    Hey y’all

    C4D newbie question.

coming from Ae, I am used to also manipulating the motion path in the viewport (aka C4D animation path). I am aware that for complex animation, or if my viewport is quite busy, I would go to the f-curve window (same as I do with Ae’s graph editor) but if I want to manipulate the animation path right in the viewport – I need handles (aka C4D tangents). by default they are not there. I wish to reveal them and I know how to do that but it seems like I have to jump through all sorts of hoops on R19, whereas in previous versions (up until R17 I think) it was much simpler.

    on R16:
    1. select the keyframe in the viewport
    2. toggle off “auto tangents”
    3. toggle off “clamp”
    done!

on R19 (as far as I know so far):
    * selecting the keyframe in the viewport doesn’t do me any good because the “auto tangents” and “clamp” are not there, seems they have moved to the timeline, so I need to open another window. and selecting my viewport keyframe does not select it in the timeline. (question about it later)
so this is the workflow I found:
    1. selecting the keyframe in my dopeshit/f-curve (make sure all xyz are selected if so)
    2. deselect remove overshooting
    3. click the auto tangents button 3 times

the problem with the R19 workflow is that it’s much harder for me to find my keyframe in the timeline vs just seeing it on my viewport on the R16 workflow (I don’t even need to open the timeline), and the other thing is it seems I am doing this wrong where I have to click 3 times on a button to make it do something. so my questions are:
    1. when selecting a keyframe on an animation path in the viewport, is there a way to select the corresponding timeline keyframe and open it maybe? (same as in Ae – a keyframe is a keyframe)
    2. what is the most efficient (or quickiest) way to show tangent to my viewport keyframes on R19?

    Thank you

so I have been answered in another forum that I simply need to toggle the triangle

remove overshooting, then remove auto tangents and done.

still would like an answer to this though:
when selecting a keyframe on an animation path in the viewport, is there a way to select the corresponding timeline keyframe and open it maybe? (same as in Ae – a keyframe is a keyframe)
