Showing a Project with a Projector
Good morning.
I just finished up a project that will be shown in an auditorium using a projector, but I am not sure how to set it up.
I will be using a PowerBook G4 to hook up to the projector, but I don’t know where to go from there – I’ve never used a projector for something like this before.
My questions:
– Should I export my movie using Quicktime Conversion as H.264?
– The video is DV so just keep it 720 x 480?
– How do I then play the video over the projector? Make it into a DVD?I would appreciate any suggestions or guidance.

Hi Brian,
i guess that your MB G4 have some kind of connexion for a second monitor.
That’s the one you need to use to connect to the projector.
You only need to open the movie with QT at full screen.
Other solution could be with FC through FireWire to a camcorder or video desk. Them from the desk to the projector (Composite Video or may be even S-Video).

If your Mac can play well DV, there is not need neither advantage to transcode it.

Bring your Apple VGA adaptor, you may need to connect to a scan converter if the projector can’t take your VGA direct.
