Showing a client video footage during early edit
I have a client who handed me about 50 HDV tapes that I’ve digitized into Final Cut. He wants this edited down to about a half hour pilot, and he wants to be a part of the early editing stage.
Essentially he wants to be able to view ALL the clips remotely and then send me the clip number with timecodes on segments he finds important to include.
My plan was to just compress the video into smaller files, and then set them up on an ftp server which he can then access. However, before I started this I was wondering if anyone knew of any kind of remote media work flow software that either works with Final Cut or independently that would allow him to view these files in a less exhausting way.
Or any other efficient ideas on this matter are welcome. Thank you very much for your time.

you could duplicate all the files to an external hdd then give him that.
He can then either send you timecodes and reel numbers, or if he has FCP he can send you a project file with the shots on a timeline.
