April 19, 2011 at 4:00 pmI run a set of 3 GTX 285’s and I am probably going to add a fourth 285, they are very powerful GPUs but they are a two slot card unless you water cool them (As I do) and there is certainly not room in a Mac-Pro for a water cooling setup.

April 20, 2011 at 8:20 amI’m in the process of setting up my Resolve on Mac.
I have purchased 2 x Quadro 4000 cards and a Cubix 4 slot expander. The 4000s will live in the expander with the Red Rocket. Slot 4 is the BM video card as I need to keep my Avid DX and HBA card inside the mac. I think it certainly can’t hurt to have the extra GPU grunt.

May 22, 2011 at 2:04 amI’ve got a Resolve, 2×4000’s in a Cubix, Red Rocket, etc. Our shows use a mix of Red, 5D, and P2 media. My 5D footage crashes the system unless I transcode it to something else (like Prores), which is annoying. Anyone else see the same thing?
thanks,
