Should I convert everything before editing in Premiere Pro?
Hi everyone!
I am editing a documentary, and I have a lot of footage, A LOT! The problem is, the footage was shot with so many different cameras, and I have about 5 different video formats that I have to work with.
So far, they are:1.

File Size: 362.5 MB
Image Size: 1440 x 1080
Pixel Depth: 32
Frame Rate: 25.005.
Type: MPEG Movie
File Size: 409.6 MB
Image Size: 1440 x 1080
Pixel Depth: 32
Frame Rate: 25.006.
Type: MPEG Movie

A lot of iphone footage!It is a bit of a nightmare! So I am wondering.. what should I convert everything to, as I want them all to be the best quality as possible and the same frame size. And what should I make the sequence settings to?
Should I use MPEG streamclip or some other program?Your help would be SO appreciated!

Dunno about your other footage, but I would transcode the iPhone clips to a better format. The iPhone files are variable framerate so they will lose sync with the clip audio in Premiere. Also I’d probably make a 25fps 720p sequence for that lot and just use the native files in that. Put the default scale to frame size-option on in the general preferences menu.
