That CMD OPT L is great.

I created one coming from Discreet that not a lot of FCP users know about:

I mapped “/” to Sequence>Add Edit. It’s like bb + left click but you can use it while playing a timeline and playback won’t stop! Great for chopping up voice overs.

To copy attributes: apple C

Select all the clips you want to receive the attributes. Right click. Paste attributes. 🙂

The default is control-V. Very, very handy.

There’s also option- ‘=’ and ‘-‘ to zoom the timeline ONLY (even if the canvas or viewer window is active). Would be even better if it did not zoom on the selected object…

Le Coyote- If you make sure NOTHING is selected (click in a blank area of timeline) it’ll zoom to the playhead.

As I discovered by accident the other day, using the scroll wheel of my mouse will move any slider in the 3 Way CC that the pointer is positioned over, including the chroma, saturation & luma limiting controls! Sweeeeet!

And, while I’m at it, using the scroll wheel of the mouse to adjust the numeric controls of most filters.

yeah i know, but very often I don’t even know something is selected. Like when I select a clip, I scroll the timeline and then try to zoom in, it scrolls back to the selected object and zoom in. Annoying…

Final Cut Pro 4 Default Keyboard Set-up PDF , “The Undiscovered Country”, is the best color coded keyboard map I have found for discovering all those little gems.

You can load it into OS X Preview or Adobe Acrobat and do a word search like “mark” and it will take you to every keyboard color coded instance of “mark”. Just looking at it right now the Cmd+Opt+K shortcut adds a audio level keyframe and I noticed the it is right next to the Cmd+Opt+L shortcut that started this thread.

Oh, and printing out a couple of color prints is cool too.
