What is the shortcut to cut something? For example, if I had a video clip and i was fast forwarding through the clip using the keyboard (j,k,l) what shortcut could i use to slice the clip versus grabing the mouse and clicking the button.

    thanks

    Control+V

Your auto selects will determine which tracks it cuts.

    What are the auto selects?

The little toggles to the left of the timeline. Ctrl + v is easier if you just highlight the clip you want to slice, then ctrl + v. No need to turn on/off multiple autoselects.
