  shortcut for outline text

  I want a shortcut for outline text. There is no way of doing it from inside the fcp. So I go to system preference – keyboard & mouse-application keyboard shortcuts and map it to control j. when I get back to fcp it’s there beside the outline text. But it’s not working. I open keyboard layout and it’s not mapped there. Is there any way of mapping the outline text?
