  • Shortcut for 1:1 replacement of elements?

Posted by Mark Suszko on February 26, 2010 at 5:50 pm

Say I built a complicated sequence in Motion 3 that has a “floor” and “distant sky” backdrop, (pictures made in photoshop as tif or png) against which I did all kinds of flying camera moves, and now the client wants to change just the “floor” element.

What is an easy way to replace that one element without changing anything I have key-framed or positioned?

    Thanks for the help.

You can drag a new floor from your File Browser and drag it onto the other floor. You will get a hooked shaped arrow. Let go of the mouse and it will swap the floors.

Or you can select the floor and go to the Properties tab. Down at the bottom you will see a Media section. Hit on the To button and you can choose to swap it with another clip in your projects.

Hope this helps and best of luck.
