I just recently purchased a Canon HF10. We are using the camera to produce a small movie that will mainly be animations and the movie will not be in High def.

My question is…what is the best way to deal with the downconversion of the HD video. Is it better to just import it into a DV NTSC project and once I drag it into the timeline I can size it right. Or is it better to use Media encoder to make it a quicktime or some other format. Also what would be the best settings for that.

I am using Premiere Pro CS4

    Thanks!

Better yet shoot in the SD mode. The results will be better and the render times will be in hours not days.

There does not seem to be a SD mode on this camera. There are several levels of quality, but all shoot in HD.
