Shooting on an XL2?
I am shooting on an XL2 with a frame rate of 30p and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but the quality of my footage doesn’t look as good as I know it should be. My Sequence Preset is DV NTSC 48 kHz; my Capture Preset is DV NTSC 48 kHz; my Device control preset is FireWire NTSC; under System Settigs – Playback Control RT is set to Safe, Video Quality is set to Dynamic, Frame Rate is set to Full, Pulldown Pattern is set to 2:3:2:3, Gamma Correction is set to Accurate, Frame offset is 4. Sorry to be so long winded but I’m just trying to figure out if it’s a problem during the capture phase or if it’s during the export and burning phase. Speaking of exporting what is the best option for me to export as if I intend to burn it to DVD? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you be more specific what the problem is.
Your are not removing any pull down.
SInce you are shooting 30P did you change the field dominance to none for the sequence?
Also are you looking at the video with an external monitor, if not you are only looking at a proxy of the image. When you bring the footage onto a timeline is it a color at top, if yes your clips and seq settings do not match.
