I’m shooting old prints to transfer to DVD, and am wondering if anyone else out there has had experience. They’re 35mm, and I’m shooting with a Canon XH-A1. From my test runs it seems that the best results I’ve had are shooting in 24F mode with a shutter of 1/48 to get an almost flickerless image; however one issue I’m having is an inconsistency with color on a frame by frame basis. It’s been pointed out to me that this could be a camera/projector sync issue, though with newer prints I’m able to have the color consistent from frame to frame. Any insights at all would be greatly appreciated!

I should also mention that with the budget as it is, a real telecine isn’t really an option. Basically I’m trying to get the best I can from shooting of the wall.

    Thanks!

[Dave LaRonde] “Heck, why don’t you simply scan ’em? Someone you know has a scanner, I bet……”

I guess it depends on the look you want…I frequently shoot photos instead of scanning to give a less digital feel. I also do moves, zooms and focus racks while I’m at it. I use XLH1 but don’t really have a shutter speed suggestion, pretty happy with the results any which way.
