  • Shooting format and workflow for PAL + NTSC DVDs

    Hey,

I have a corporate training video project where the footage needs to be edited and then output to both PAL and NTSC DVDs.

    Shooting
In the past, I have shot PAL DV 25fps 720×576 (Anamorphic 16:9), done my editing in that format (Premiere Pro CS3) and then converted that to NTSC (via DVAtlantis) which has smaller dimensions anyway. I’m getting a new NXCAM shortly and will be using that to shoot. What format will be the best to shoot? And which format would you edit first?

This is my first foray into HD and also the ability to shoot progressive and some advice would be most appreciated.

I also have to think workflow, and am more or less planning to upgrade to Premiere Pro CS5, but suggestions there are also welcome.

    Thanks,

    Sean
