I’d strongly recommend going through one of the professional tutorials (I prefer Ripple Training) before undertaking anything. You’ll avoid frustration that way. You’ll also have the FCPX Techniques forum on the COW to ask for help.

I’m already loving FCPX just because they finally changed their media management. FCPX media management makes WAY more sense than FCP7.
