  • Shooting Blue screen… go XD or Digibeta?

Ok so we are doing a quite large Chroma key job and only have access to a blue screen studio that is large enough for our requirements, i know green is preferable, but thats a no go, however we have lighting technicians that are used to blue so it will be fine.
The question is: we have the option of shooting XD or Digibeta, which would be best?
I am in PAL land if that helps…

    Thanks

Thanks Dave, thanks heaps for the in depth answer!
Sorry, yeah it is all going to be standard def (we are not really using HD much in New Zealand yet, but getting close), but the temptation won’t be there to zoom slightly as i am going to be shrinking people to have them running around on a computer, i just wanted to make sure that i get the best key while they are still full frame, and the truth about which is the best format, because the studio is pushing XD, possibly because it is their new toy, however i would prefer to stick to what i know and go with digibeta.

    Thanks again for the answer.
