Activity Forums VEGAS Pro Shooting and Editing in AVCHD vs. MOV

    Thank you for the very useful information you have provided.

    I hope you will take another question or two.

    I shoot a lot of video with a GH3 (and even some with an FZ150). I always shoot at 1080/60p because I need to be able to create smooth slo-mo segments in post (I use PE12).

    My question is this:

    MOV files viewed on computer look far better at full screen size (17″) than AVCHD. Much higher resolution, cleaner images, far fewer artifacts.

    But if I incorporate them into a video created by PE12, they look worse. This is true if I export from PE12 as MP4 (which gives great quality when viewed on TV or computer) or burn to DVD (I don’t burn to BluRay). Any thoughts on why this might be so? I abandoned MOV a year or so ago for this reason.

    I’m using an HP Pavilion dv7, with Intel i7.
