I’ve never shot 24p before but have heard and have seen great results with 24p footage for the web (flash video compression). Was wondering if there are any drawback to recording in 24p mode as opposed to regular 29.97 NTSC?

Someone has mentioned a problem with 2:3 pulldown while the video is compressing. Something about 24 fps not being able to provide enough frames for the pulldown.

Any other issues I should be concerned about?

Considering making the leap, just wondering if there are many post-production hurdles in the future.

    thanks!

24p is perfect for web production. You shoot 24pA, capture with advanced pulldown removal, cut at 24p and export at 24p. Just about every trailer on Apple.com is 24p so decide for yourself if it looks good:

(ps if you’re super confused, I highly recommend Barry Green’s DVX book and my DVD.)
