I’m looking for software which will work in FCP (and, if possible, AE as well), to take the shine and sweat off interview subjects.

There have been some great posts from prior years about this issue, but I’d like to find out what people are liking Right Now, especially with the new OS and FCS.

The two top plugs seem to be SmoothKit from Re:VisionFX and Electronic Makeup Artist. Similar in pricing — I’d love to hear from someone who’s tried both and has an opinion as to which is better.

(Side question: The Re:VisionFX website notes that as an AE/FCP plug-in, SmoothKit supports only 8-bit processing in FCP. I assume that Electronic Makeup Artist has the same limitation. I don’t think that is anything I should worry about (editing SD and HD projects) — true?)

    Thanks!

I have used EMA with great success. Not for shiny foreheads or sweat though, but for the wrinkles on my grandmothers face. It does smooth out that stuff. Not sure about the sweat and shininess. But there is a demo of EMA, so you can try the demo and see how it works for yourself.

I’ve had people use Digital Cover-Up to reduce shiny skin…. completely erased a highlight from a bald head.
