    Hi,

Trying to do a super shiny text raytrace effect with After Effects. At the moment, the text just looks matt. How do I achieve this? I’ve played with all the settings under material options, but still get a matt effect.

I suggested this in your other post as well:

Use it with Element 3d or ShapeShifter AE.

You can get really nice and fast results with ShapeShifter AE even without Elementary- use a reflection map, work at 32 bit and apply a soft Glow on the highlights and you’ll get nice shiny text.

That adjustment layer you added in the other thread is breaking your scene.

Just like the Classic 3D renderer, a 2D layer in between your 3D layers breaks them into separate 3D scenes that do not interact.

I recommend grabbing these free material options templates and examining them to see how they work:

The whole reason that we made these available was to make it easy to learn how to get various results with the ray-traced 3D renderer.
