(Pulled this from another post, figure it would be better as it own post for searching sake)

I have a psd that is pre-comped then has a 3d camera applied so it is angled. Now the factal bgrd that is precomped under this layer has a sort of light burst effect happening. What I would like to attempt is have a sort of volumetric light effect happening like light rays coming from behind the precomped psd thats over the precomped light burst effect, like it is interrupting the light. But when I apply (trapcode) shine it applies to entire object (inside the psd), and not around the edges. Also how can I get the rays to respect the camera angle? Any help on any of the topics is greatly appreciated.
