    Hi guys,

I’m trying to apply the “shine” effect to a logo. By default the shine seems to go on top of the logo. Is there any way to put it behind the logo without duplicating the layer? Thanks…

No. Since Shine bases its calculations on layer data figuruing in certain thresholds that would be difficult to achieve. You have to work with duplicates, there’s no way around this.

Actually, you could use CC Composite. Place it after Shine, then uncheck “RGB Only” so the Alpha is composited as well.

you can use alpha, alpha edges, or other channels to generate the shine. each of these will give a different look. You can also change the transfer mode. these options have always been sufficient for me.
