    Shimmering Text

    I have black text and want to have it where there is a shimmer or shine effect starts from the left and goes through the text and ends on the right.

    I tried having a layer on top of the text that is just a solid white (enough to just cover the height of the text, and about one letter wide) and then compositing it, except nothing happened, then tried it where the text was on top and solid white on bottom, and compositing the text and vice-versa.

    I’m just a newb and thought this would be simple to do but obviously it isn’t for me 🙁

    any tutorial similar to what I’m talking about?
