I apologize for the stupid question, I’ve searched quite bit…
I’ve corner pinned a still (which is in the comp as a 3d layer) into an area. I now need to mask part of the still once it has been pinned. Once I draw the mask, AE applies the mask to the image’s position before it was corner pinned (and the mask is therefore off). I tried precompsing, but no dice. What am I missing?

    Thanks,
    Ken.

    Thanks for the help Dave.

My issue is, I need to corner pin before masking, as the mask is reasonably intricate.
I’m kind of stuck trying to think of a workaround…

    any thoughts are appreciated.

When you pre-composed the layer, did you select “Move All Attributes”? You need the corner pin effect to be applied inside of the pre-comp, then mask the pre-comp in its parent comp.

I thought I did select ‘move all atributes’, but just tried it again and it worked perfectly.
Thanks so much Darby and Dave for the quick responses.
