  • Shifting a connected clip that has transition?

I’m sure I’m going to hit my forged with this one but sometimes I have a connected clip with, say, cross dissolves on it and I want to budge it slightly to another position. Highlighting it and nudging with , and . doesn’t work and pressing the P (for repositioning) leaves me with those weird black squares which could be dangerous as I don’t understand what they do.

I end up by deleting the transition(s), moving the clip in one of the ways I’ve mentioned and then I reapply the transition(s) again.

I’m missing something here as there has to be any easier way. I’d be really grateful to find out what it is. Thanks in advance.

Prepare forehead to be smacked…. 😉

Just grab the secondary storyline bar above the clip. It appears as soon as you add transitions. Grab it, move it, all follows.
