I would imagine that Apple ProRes and Avid DNX have pretty much made Sheer pretty useless.

The last Sheer update is around one year old, but for me this only means that there is very little left to implement.
The job they have done to support almost every kind of platform, format, pixels, color spaces,..is AMAZING. Is for sure the most comprehensive on the market, offering unique options, as 10b Unc444/YUV, all with Alpha, etc, and the best option for Uncompress archiving.
    Apple should buy Sheer.

I suppose now that ProRes is playable on Windows and editable in Avid, there’s not much Sheer offers beyond it for most people.

That’s more recent than I would’ve bet going by their site. The PhotoJazz page of their site has been returning a 403 error for weeks now. Assuming they are still in business, they should make sure their site gives that impression…

So like a dummy I recommended this codec to my bosses as a great investment only to realize it doesn’t work with lion. In fact it looks like they haven’t updated in a while. They won’t return emails and won’t answer phone. Straight to voicemail. Why is there even a place to purchase when it’s no longer legit? I mean I loved the codec. Where else can you get lossless compression??? and REAL GOOD compression at that??? It makes me sad. At this point I just want my money back.
