    Ok,

So I’ve got a character that I want to make crumble. I’ve managed to get the effect that I want using the Thrausi Plugin, and it works pretty well. The problem I’ve reached now is that I want the character to walk a bit before beginning to crumble. But no matter what I try every time the mesh jumps back to the starting point before crumbling.
Anyone know how I could make this work?
I’m happy email the scene file if that helps.

    Cheers,

Thrausi creates a bunch of new objects but your character started as one object (probably?) The usual thought would be to pick the point in the animation where the break up occurs, do a Current State to Object on the character at that point, Thrausi that new object then swap (visibility probably) the animated character for the Thrausied parts at that point in the animation.

Yeah, but I was hoping to set up a sort of collision trigger to collapse the character. Doesn’t seem to be working.
Seems that I’ll have to do it that way.

since the dynamics, once set up, will always collide at the same frame you can make it work but if you are thinking to possibly change the dynamics and have the collapse adjust automatically I don’t know that it can be done.
Sounds like it might be possible when R18 arrives with the new Voronoi Fracture object https://www.maxon.net/en/products/new-in-release-18/mograph/

The problem isn’t the dynamics, I’ve managed to get that bit to work and move with the character. The problem seems to be that dynamics won’t work with Skin on and as soon as you uptick Skin the mesh jumps back to it’s position before binding.
