I have added the shatter effect to a solid. Then extruded the effect. When I rotate the shatter effect camera (Y rotation) I want light to be reflected off of the front, the sides, and the back of the image. It’s simple to reflect the light source off the front, but how do I make a light source reflect not only the front of the shattered image, but the sides and back as well?

I’m not sure what you are asking here. Specular reflections are completely dependent on the light source position, so if you want them to show up und your sides and backfaces, you have to move the light source accordingly.

If it’s the light that wish to have better control over, try this. If it’s multiple lights that that you feel are absolutely necessary, I can’t tell you but this may bring you closer.

access dropdown: SHATTER>LIGHTING>Light Type -change to FIRST COMP LIGHT. Make a Spot Light (LAYER>NEW>LIGHT. Light Type>SPOT). Select and adjust Position X,Y,Z values of “Light 1” in Comp Window to -800,700,100. Adjust light’s cone angle really wide >180. Vhwalla, pretty/obscure low angle side/frontal light.
