Look in the “sharpen” set of filters in the Filters tab…

Also just color correcting footage and giving it a bit more contrast will help often times.

    Hi Mirella,
The Nattress “Chroma Smooth/Sharpen” is magic for any 420/411 footage.

..works great in any 420/411 footage in a 422 sequence. And much better if is a 10b sequence and rendered in High Precision YUV.

Natress articles and posts rule too! Although I get lost in them very quickly just reading one of his articles tells you he knows his stuff!

I still have to buy some Natress stuff (demos right now) but posts/threads like these take me closer and closer.

    Hi Elihaj,
Don’t miss two very important articles of G. Nattress:
    – Video Levels in FC Pro
    – Chroma Sampling in FCP.
There are fundamental. You can find them in the LAFCUG or the Ken Stone web sites.
Graeme Nattres really knows a lot and he is a very friendly guy. He used to come to this forum quite often, but I guess now with the development of the RED he have no much time.
Any question you may have, jut post to him.
    Cheers,
    Rafael

Whilst I have the Nattress filters, I also recommend Lyric’s Masked Sharpen filter.

    https://www.lyric.com/fcp-plugins/lyric-effects/masked-effects/index.html

It works much better than the FCP sharpen filter and can help soft shots without going too edgy.
