Unless I’m looking in the wrong places, there doesn’t seem a whole lot out there on if, where and how to sharpen up footage.
The only place I’ve come across the option to sharpen is via Filters when going through Export – but avoided it as it does seem a bit crude and basic

As ever, any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Joe,
In FC you have a “Sharpen” filter.
I think you must be very careful when applying this effect. You need to monitor very carefully how it affects the picture. I think that the results may depends very much of the “robustness’ of your footage.
    Best,

Thanks. I obviously didn’t look hard enough in the most obvious of places.

These are R3D clips I want to sharpen, which I guess are pretty robust.
Being captured digitally, are they similar to digital stills in that they will always require some degree of sharpening and if so what amounts would be considered reasonable or is it a case of what you tweak is what you get.

    Thanks

You may also try the Sharpen in Motion or in Color.
    Cheers,
