    Hi,
I’m having trouble to output a Blu-ray AVCHD disc to DVD media via Share in FCPX, but I get the same error message after FCPX has converted and before starting to burn: “There was an error burning your disc. The bit rate of the video file exceeded the maximum allowable.” Using this method there are no options to change any of the settings, not that that was a problem previously.

I have always successfully used this route to burn the ‘Blu-ray’ discs. I’ve tried other projects with the same result. I’m convinced it’s either to do with the Mac OS update or the latest FCPX update (though I can’t remember if I burnt a Blu-ray successfully in FCPX 10.0.5 before upgrading the OS, probably not?).

Has anyone else had problems, or perhaps could you just try a short project to check? I want to output a project containing mainly still images with some footage and generators of around 17mins duration. All as I’ve done previously.

We don’t have any other way of burning a Blu-ray / AVCHD disc so would really like to get this to work!

Any help / advice gratefully received.

I just tried this using FCP 7.0.3 and it’s given me pretty much the same error! This was on a macbook pro 10.7.5, 3.06GHz intel core 2 duo 8GB. I used a ProRes 1080p file in the sequence, 25fps.

I’ve also tried a 720p version, that didn’t work either but gave a different error message something like : time out.

Is this pointing to the mac update?

Can’t be an OS issue as I’ve just tried the file thru 10.5.8 and FCP 7.0.3 and the file I want to output failed, although I also tried a file from a much earlier project and it burnt successfully.

I thought it could be because I had dropped still images into the timeline first, so I have started over with a 1080p 25fps clip first. Have just tested the first couple of minutes and it has failed.

    Pointing back to FCPX?

If anyone could try a test or let me know if they have burnt successfully I’d be grateful?
