share fonts in a workgroup?
hello,
does anyone have any suggestions on how to share fonts among a workgroup? i know there are the apps that you can purchase such as suitcase, font reserve, etc. we would like to be able to access fonts for after effects projects from multiple workstations. does anyone have any suggestions or leads that can help us accomplish this without purchasing the expensive apps?

Nope. Licensing issues for the fonts themselves aside, they have to be “known” to the system and the only means of doing so are using the tools you describe or physically copy the font files to the proper directories. In some situations you can embed them into Illustrator, PDF and PSD files and that will also make them magically appear in the font lists of the system and they can even be used in other apps (temporarily), but considering that it’s not always practical to have the mentioned programs running all the time in addition to AE, it may not be an option.
