Shapes and text
Hi,
At the beginning of Rob Mize’s top 10 shapes countdown there are shapes with letters cut out of them and all together they spell “shape”. HOW is that done? I’ve looked at yours and every other resource on the Web and I can’t find anything on it. Please help! Thanks!

Yes that’s the one. See how he spelled out “shape” with cut out letters? That’s what I’d like to do, thanks!

Take a look at this tutorial: https://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-after-effects-cc/understanding-track-mattes-luma-and-alpha/ You would create save the A in shape and turn it to a luma matte. So when you animate your shape the A doesn’t move and it cuts into the shape. Hope this helps and best of luck.
