Shape layers in 3D (in after effects)
Hi!
I am trying to edit a line (shape layer made to 3d) in ae. Obivously you can use the pen-tool, add anchor points and shape and bend the layer as you want in the Y-X axis. You can also do it in the Z-axis, but for me, it is just messing around on the z-axis and impossible to put/bend i where i want (when im moving it right it goes up, or left or whatever, and nothing makes sense).
I am using one window for X-Y, one for Z.Is there a tool or a better way to do something like in my attached images (and with one line instead of three as in the image)?

I think I’d use the include script Create Nulls from Path. And choose Points follow nulls. This will give you easy to adjust points (you can make the nulls 3D objects too).
Ultimately it’s a 2D effect being faked in 3D, so you might be forced to switch to a 3D stroke. There is a plugin called 3D stroke, I think) or you could try with splines in C4D.

Yes, i am putting it as a 3d object, and it works. And it works to shape it on the z-axis. But if you move one part up, it goes to the left and and etc. Nothing makes senses and it is hard to shape it as u want.
Does the plug in work for ae?
