Shape layer transform anchor point to mimic main anchor point

So shape layers obviously have 2 anchor points, one at the root and one within the Contents – Group – Transform.

I did an animation of a Circle shape layer expanding by using ‘Scale’ with the root anchor point offset so it expanded off center and worked great.

I now need to reproduce the animation using the shape layer’s ‘Size’ instead. But changing the second Anchor Point does nothing. The shape layer always expands from it’s center when using ‘Size’

How can I make the shape layer ‘anchor point’ mimic the main one?

Do I need to offset it’s position or is there an easier solution?
