  • Shaky frame………. AVCHD in Vegas

Have some film of a skier that fly in the air after a big jump. Camera used is a Sony HDR-CX12E with software “Motion Picture Browser” and when i freeze a fast motion frame in the MPB it is just fine…… sharp and nice. But when i freeze the same frame in Vegas it is blurry (ghost shaddows) in the fast moving objects /hands skies, arms and leggs. This is not a interlace issue. When i render DV i dont have this problem. Is it the AVCHD and Vegas that dont like eash other. plz help. I can mail the frames if someone whants to take a look.

    Regards
    Robert

This sounds like the interpolation that you get when your project and media don’t have the same frame rate. Do you have your Vegas project set to HD 1080-50i (1920×1080, 25.000 fps)? (I assume you are shooting PAL 25fps with a CX12E)

Its shot with the lower 1440×1080 and thats what i have set the Project Properties to “HDV 1080-50i (1440×1080; 25,000 fps)”

And after 5 hours of rendering tests i found that if i set the PP to 50 fps and then render to 50 fps i lose the ghost shadows….

Thank’s for the respons, you pointed me in the (fps) direction.
    Case closed!

Uhhh…… the ghost shadows is back….. In the test I only used one clip. When I put two clips on the timeline, “clip 2” gets the ghost shadows in the fast moving bodyparts. The funny thing is if I switch places of the clips and put “clip 2” first on the timeline and “clip 1” second then I’ll notice that the problem stayes at the second clip (on the timeline).

    Any ideas?

If your project properties match your media you should not see this ghosting. Here are two things to try:

    1. Set the project properties with the Match Media Settings button. It’s the folder button in the upper right corner of the Project Properties window (Alt+Enter).
    2. Check the Disable resample option on the event properties. You shouldn’t have to do this but it should fix the problem.

If the first one doesn’t work, the second one should.

Hey, how did you export at 50fps? I have the exact same problem but when I go to export it says an error has occured in the render the cause of the problem can not be determined
