Shakie footage
Posted by Omnidecay on June 23, 2007 at 4:20 amI have some HDV footage from a car sitting on a car mount. The video is very bouncey, is there anyway to make the video more clear? Thanks

June 23, 2007 at 12:40 pm[zrb123] “if you have FCP 6 then try the new smoothcam”
One of my editors tried this out yesterday on some DV footage shot on a boat and while the shakiness went away, there was a lot of softness added by the smoothcam feature. This was very obvious because there is a large sign right in the middle of the shot and you can see the letters get soft. He added a sharpness filter which brought back some of the sharpness, but the image was still clearly degraded by the filter.
It’s got a lot of potential and hopefully as FCP moves forward, the filter will get cleaner.

June 25, 2007 at 11:06 amDo you own Shake or Boris Continuum Complete filters? Both have Optical Flow filters that do an amazing job of smoothing out shakiness.
