  • Shakey/Flashy/Jittering Text…best way?

    hi guys…

i always see a lot of projects and they have that jitter text…as if it was a scary movie, cool flashy sports thing, or something like that.

u know…it’s some words with like a copy of it flashing…randomly shaking around in and out…

what’s the best way to do something like that?

    please let me know…

    thank so much.

    Hi there,

Don’t know if this is the best way, but try it.

for the jitter, I would use an expression on the text layer:

    wiggle([times per second],[aplitude of wigggle].

    eg. wiggle(5,10)

for the flashy look I don’t know I’ve I totally understand what your looking for.

    But I’d try this:

Duplicate the layer and set it’s blend mode to lighten.
pickwhip the positions so that the layers keep the same position.

And then again use an expression to get some random flashing:
put this in the opacity value for the lighten layer:

    random(100)

    does this help?

Alt-Click on the stopwatch for the OPACITY value of the duplicate text layer (that you set it’s blend mode to Lighten).

Then it will allow you to enter text, put the random(100) there.

Ig you don’t come right let me know, I’ll make you a sample project.
What version of AE are you running

I was just trying to do this myself. If possible, i’d love to see a sample project.

    thanks
