    Im using AE cs3 and i tried to cast shadow on a background layer using andrew kramer tutorial on casting shadows on 2d image
    when i use lights to cast shadows on a solid layer i can see the shadows and when im turning off the accept light and also turn the blend mode to multiply i cant see the shadows
    i also opened the project file from the site and i cant see them
    any idea?

    Did you set the track that should cast the shadow to “Cast shadow”?
    I watched that Andrew Kramer tutorial too. Very informative, I thought. Danny Hays

    Yes i did
    i follow it exactly and also tried it with the project files
    but still no shadows
    can you see the shadows with no problem?

    Yes, I used a white solid, rotated flat, set to multiply, set the subject track to cast shadows and the white solid track to accept shadows. I used the pin light I think it was called to get an even and sharp shadow. I also used a camera view like the tutorial.I had to pull up the tutorial, watch and pause at each step, set my settings and continue to next step in order to get it to work. It took a while but it does work great. Make sure your light is not straight above the subject but off to the side so the shadow will be seen. You probably just missed a step. Danny Hays
