OK, so I get how to do the “shadows” thing in 3D space using a light. I turn on the “accept shadows” option on the layer I want the shadows on, but for some reason I can never get the 3D objects to give off shadows. What am I doing wrong here?

    Thanks,
    Cratin

Is the layer set to cast shadows? It does default to ‘off’. Of course, that’s in 6.5.. I am only assuming 7 is the same way.

Select your layer.. hit “AA”. Check your Cast Shadow status.

I actually have “cast shadows” turned on for the layer that is supposed to have a shadow.

    Thanks,

And the light also set to cast shadows?

Other than that, check different views to make sure that the light position and point of interest are in line with the casting object and receiving object.
