  • .sfl files keep appearing with every rendered file..Can it be stopped ?

Posted by Viki Kumar on June 20, 2009 at 11:13 am

    Hi,

Every time i render an mpeg or an m2t file from the timeline the rendered file lands up with another .slf file accompanying it. I do understand that temp sound wave files are created with every imported footage. But this is happening with every exported/rendered file. Its very confusing when rendering a series of files. Can this be stopped.

I suspect there is a function in vegas which enables all rendered files to also be automatically reimported or become a part of the main project. I dont remember where i read that as it was a long while ago.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks…

.sfl is the markers file. When you pull up the “render as” screen, uncheck the “Include Markers” option.

Yep, thats the solution…i only wish i didnt have to uncheck
this box each time i open up the “render as” screen.

    Thanks Edward !

Steve, you mean we have to do this everytime. Dosent Vegas remember the last choice used ? Or are there at least any settings in the preferences panel where we can choose not to save project marker files ?

Hi, I have the same problem. I´m trying to render as .avi or .mpg and this .sfl file extension keeps appearing. (Sony Vegas 6.0) I don´t have the option “include markers” but I have the “save project markers in media file” option (I asummed it´s the same) I´v tried unchecking it but it didn´t work.

    Please help, thanks.

Yes i found the same thing happening. Unchecking the box doesnt do anything to stop it.

Unfortunately I did not notice this prior to making a bunch of videos. If I were to delete these files after the rendering has completed, will it damage any files? As the rendered files are completed, I would think not, but what about my saved project files?

    Thanks in advance.
